Grandpa never seems to wonder why,
Broken dreams have made him rather sad.
Watching hours slowing creeping by,
Knowing death won't really be that bad.
And I wonder what it feels like to be old.
Often times I feel as if I am.
Will my thoughts be nearly quite as bold,
When the hourglass runs out of sand?
He told me once, not very long ago,
"Well, live a life that's sure to fill your soul.
You've got more time than you might think you have."
He always reached for life, but he never grabbed...

And even now I long for younger days,
When everything was full of life.
Reality can make one lose his way.
You can't rely on innocence for lies.
And I wonder what it feels like to be old.
